Windows Validation Bypass, Genuine Windows Validation

Here is the solution I found to work with XP Pro SP2(credit goes to
"mywindow")

Go to, C:WINDOWSsystem32

Hex edit the LegitCheckControl.dll file. At location 0002BE90h Change 8B 45 D8 to 33 C0 90
Save the file.

Then Updates and Downloads will work as if your were "Genuine" :)

UPDATED This is said to work also with XP.

Notes: No Software needed like trixie or greasemonkey.
No Registry Editing
No activeX control in Tools>Manage Add-Ons
No Disabling of IE as first posted with this script in IE (Put this into IE browswer before getting updates by clicking on custom or other button.

Hey D, download and use this proggy to edit the hex.( its free)

You want to load the LegitCheckControl.dll file into the hex editor and you will find the line you need to edit about 2/3rds the way down the file.

Yes it is, the "h" just means Hex format and not decimal.

thanks emma just had to reformat my computer and after installing all the updates i got stuck on that validating your xp system and i failed. edited this line and did a update and it past this screen and told me i had all the updated. thanks again.keep coming back to this site for all my comouter and software needs. i have a good one that i will post a new topic about my dvd burner and nero infotool. i have posted this on 3 other dvd burning sites with no responce as of yet so hope this site will hekp me.

Once you try to get critical updates, it will load a preliminary set of downloads & then you'll need to do update again. From there, you'll see if you'll need to bypass the validation. Cheers

hi emma,just updating another computer, having a problem with the hex editor program, i find the line to edit but can't input the new numbers,if i click on the first line and right mouse click there is no edit line icon. i did this on another computer with no problem, please help. thanks

EMMA...thanx for all your hard work for everybody here...in my travels I found this and it works great for those who may not want to dig in to their system32...just unzip and copy it to C:WINDOWSsystem32...it will ask you if you want to replace the current .dll and just click "yes"...that's all there is to it...I used it myself and it was flawless...and now I am 'legal'...lmao

What really pisses me off about this is, I bought an E-Machines system for my dad at BestBuy, in Aug, and when windoze did the Validation check, it told me that my copy of windows was not Valid with the make of hardware, and that It'll still work, but there may be some software updates that may not work in the future, or something like that.

Here's something easy if none of the above works for you... Just go to "Tools->Manage Add-ons", and choose "Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer" instead of "Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer", and then choose "Windows Genuine Advantage" from the list... And then click "Disable", click "Ok", and restart IE. You're in like Flynn. :D

ok guys and gals I have tried everything to get the sp2 update for my windows xp pro software. I tried to use the hacked updated one as well and it goes through the motions as if it works but when it gets to the key validation it completely stops. I thought maybe i needed to restart my system so I did and I still get the same result. I may be missing a step or something but I beleive I followed the instructions ....please help!!!!
