How to CHANGE KEYS

1. There are TWO ways to access the key input menu should the unit not autoroll. One way is to hit the MUTE button on the remote and then hit the EXIT button. The other way is, using the remote, go to channel 8282.

2. That will bring up the Key Edit Screen. This is where you put the keys in manually using the remote control. You will use UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, and OK on the remote to enter the keys.

3. You will notice that first box on the top left is highlighted in YELLOW. That means that is the active box to work on. Looking to the center of the screen you will see it say DISH NETWORK, and under that you see four rows of digits. Notice that before the long string of digits is a DOUBLE DIGIT NUMBER. You are looking at the KEYS that are used to decrypt signal.

4. The double digit is just the NUMBER of the key that you’re working on and the long string of eight pairs is the actual KEY. It should look like:

10 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
11 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
20 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
21 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx

5. To navigate down to the digits next to the number 10 use the DOWN button on your remote. When the string is YELLOW it is ready to be worked on. You’ll notice that there are combinations of NUMBERS and LETTERS. To be able to enter them easily there is a built in KEYPAD to the software. Hit the OK button when you have the long string of numbers highlighted and you’ll see the KEYPAD pop up.

6. To use the KEYPAD, use the UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT buttons on the remote and move to the number or letter you want to input. When that number or letter is highlighted, press OK and it will show up on screen. The cursor on the screen will automatically jump to the next position so you don’t have to worry about that.

7. When you are done working on line 10 (entered the last pair of numbers in the string), hit the EXIT button on the remote ONCE. That will take the KEYPAD away. You can then hit the DOWN button and move down to the string to the right of number 11.

8. Once again press OK to bring up the KEYPAD and enter THAT string of numbers.

9. When finished, simply hit EXIT two times. One to take the keypad away, the second time to exit the KEY EDIT screen. It will ask you if you want to SAVE. Select YES and press OK on the remote. THAT’S IT!
