PROGRAMMING: DISH Adds Korean Content - EchoStar's DISH Network is offering two Korean language channels - JSTV and WOW-TV - in its international programming lineup. JSTV is a 24-hour, Korean-language Christian channel based in North America. WOW-TV is a 24-hour Korean-language business and financial news channel, providing up-to-the-minute market coverage as well as commentary from journalists.

COMPETITIVE WATCH: Comcast Reports 3Q - Comcast said it added 307,000 digital customers during the third quarter, for a total of more than 9.4 million. Basic subscribers remained unchanged at 21.4 million. The nation's largest cable company also ended the three-month period with more than 8.1 million high-speed Internet subscribers.

TECHNOLOGY: Level 3 Expands DirecTV Work - Level 3 Communications was selected by DirecTV to provide a nationwide backbone solution, consisting of bandwidth and data center services, enabling the expansion of the satellite TV company's high-def services. Through the agreement, Level 3 will upgrade and augment a backbone to support and aggregate HDTV signals from local markets for rebroadcast to DirecTV customers. Level 3 has worked with DirecTV since 1999 and provides a substantial portion of the company's existing private line backbone.
